Kelly – “Diabetesaliciousness”
Born in New Jersey, Kelly was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on October 31, 1978. As she states in her blog, she comes from a long line of type 1s. Her two sisters, her father, two aunts, a cousin and a nephew have all been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Tragically, she lost her sister Debbie to diabetes complications in 1991. “I think about her every day,” Kelly writes. In order to share her own experiences and help other diabetics keep a positive attitude, Kelly speaks at various events. She is known for injecting plenty of comedy into her speeches, which help to expose the lighter side to living with type 1. Visit Kelly’s Blog: “Diabetesaliciousness”.
